Elvis Presley - The King of Rock 'N Roll

Elvis Presley is known throughout the world as the King of Rock 'n Roll. Yet he transcended that genre, his musical genius and his magical voice conquering gospel, rhythm and blues, country, rockabilly and even pop. As if that wasn't enough, he was also a major movie star. But Elvis always shied away from that title bestowed upon him by the world - the fans and the media.

One evening in 1965, as I was styling his hair upstairs at Graceland, Elvis and I were talking about certain aspects of his singing career and all the various styles and categories of music that he's known for. All of a sudden Elvis leaned forward in his chair and said, "Ya know Larry, people call me the king, like I invented rock n' roll or something. No way man, no way; that's not the way it really is. Rock n' roll goes back, way back to the days where it all started in the Deep South when the ol' Negros were working in the fields, slaving their whole lives away. I mean those poor people; they really knew what pain an' suffering was all about. They used to sing and pour out their hearts to God just to make it through the day. I mean it was their souls that were singing, crying out. When the sun came up to till it went down, they all sang, making up the words as they went along, in the cotton fields an' plantations.

"Listen, that's where most of our real gospel music actually comes from. What white people did was to copy them. Their slave music found its way right into their own churches; then white people picked up on it and began singing the slave songs in their own way in the white churches. Then their music began to change and went beyond the churches and grew into honky-tonk and Dixieland. It all happened around here, in the ol' Mississippi Delta, then downtown in Memphis on Beale Street, and New Orleans. Then it spread north to St. Louis and Chicago where the blues, ragtime and jazz first took off; then right up into our times, when it all grew into rhythm n' blues, then rock 'n roll. I'll tell you the truth Larry, I was just lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time - and all I really did was to take their music and introduce it to a white audience."

I remember one night in Las Vegas in December of 1976. We had just left Elvis' dressing room and had gotten into the elevator on our way up to his penthouse at the Hilton International. Two girls rushed up and excitedly yelled out, "Elvis, Elvis, you're the king!" As the doors were closing he smiled and pointed upwards. "There's only one King. I might be in the saddle but I'm not on the throne."

I was much more than Elvis Presley's personal hairstylist. I was also, from the day we met in 1964, to the day I styled his hair for his funeral, his confidant and spiritual mentor. I brought into Elvis' life books and ideas that we shared in countless intimate conversations over the course of our many years together.

Before meeting Elvis, I worked with the famed Jay Sebring. Our clientele read like a Hollywood Who's Who, with such luminaries as Frank Sinatra, Paul Newman, Marlon Brando, Peter Sellers, Steve McQueen, Henry Fonda, Peter Fonda, Robert Wagner, James Garner, Bobby Darin, Sammy David, Jr., Rock Hudson, Roy Orbison, Sam Cooke, Kirk Douglas, Tony Bennett, Jackie Gleason and many, many more.

How to Draw a Portrait of Michael Jackson

Many artists have the penchant to sketch their favorite stars from different genre and musicians are often the preferred choices. The 'King of Pop,' Michael Jackson, was one of the stars the artists most widely covered. His face had some distinguishing characteristics that make his portrait a typical job to execute. Similarly, he was often depicted performing some of his most popular dance steps. To help you identify and replicate these idiosyncrasies, here is a step-by-step guide to sketch Michael Jackson:

• Reference Image. The first step would be to obtain an appropriate reference picture. Keep in mind the complexity levels - face only, full-length, or otherwise. You can choose from the wide collection available on the internet.

• Scale and Proportions. Decide upon the size of the portrait vis-à-vis the reference picture. Adopt the relative ratios of the various elements as present in the original image.

• Outlines. Study the actual contours first before beginning to sketch light outlines for the whole figure. Such a skeletal sketch will give you an idea about the accuracy of posture, structure, and proportions. Use a fine eraser that does not wear out the drawing base surface greatly.

• Facial features. Start with the outmost identifiable boundaries for each individual feature and move inwards, including details. For instance, use eye sockets for eye area, imaginary curvilinear lines for nose, roughly semicircular structure for ears, and so on.

• Distinguishing Factors. Michael Jackson's face had some distinct characteristics that need to be factored in. Some of them include a remarkable square jaw, broad nose, thick small lips, and near-perfect eyebrows. Jackson always maintained a slim, athletic build. Some of his signature dance forms, like moonwalk and toe dance regularly appear in his full-length pictures. However, he continued to experiment with his facial looks throughout his career. Therefore, depending upon the date of your reference picture, some of the features like cheekbones, lips, and nose might vary in different degrees.

• Hair. Michael Jackson had wavy and flowing tresses, which he wore medium or long. In most cases, he had strands or well-made locks over his forehead or the sides of his face. Sketching curly hair is much trickier than sketching the straight one. Therefore, pick your reference photograph carefully. If you are not comfortable with drawing such hair do, opt either for a photo with lesser-exposed hair or any of his later images when he wore straightened hair.

• Shading. It is very important to use appropriately aligned retrace lines and shading to add the effect of light and detailed features. For highlighting these effects, use slanting pencil strokes and tortillion (a tool for smudging pencil lines).

Current Health Articles - Ways For Beautiful Sleep

Where are those old day?

The old days when you were a small child, and you used to fell asleep just as soon as the head hits the pillow? And that was awesome sleep because during those days, sleep was a sound sleep and you slept soundly through the night until morning. Like the song of Michael Learns to Rock:- Sleeping child or the sleep of those days is called "the sleep of the innocent". It has now become so difficult to sleep like those days, forget sleeping we just keep tossing turning on bed and just anxiety in our eyes and beautiful sleep nowhere to be found. How we wish we could sleep like that again?

Causes of Sleep Disorders:

• Adult responsibilities
• Stress and other worries
• Poor sleep habits like the tossing and turning, it is hard to return to a good night sleep.

Usage of Sleeping pills:

These days' lots of adults use prescription drugs to help them fall asleep, some are smart to practice "self medicate" that is alcohol and while others over-the-counter sleeping pills all in vain though trying to fall asleep. This may or may not be effective for short term but in long term harmful side effects and then more over more problems add on to cause more sleepless nights.

Struggling to sleep: If you are regularly struggling to have a proper sleep then you probably just need to learn how to fall asleep again!

Lets go back to basics!

Introducing the trainer none other the acclaimed and most revered and who better to consult than babies! After all, the babies are experts at sleeping (this is what they do best, do not your agree hundred percent?) So lets take some tips, guidelines and why not learn a little from them? What is that other then their age and natural body clock, that makes them such beautiful sleeping beauties?

The lessons begin:

• Routine - Babies sleep on their routine, reason is parents try very hard to get their children into an everyday routine of regular mealtimes, bedtimes, and bath times. So forming a routine is something to work towards.

Basically the reason of following routine could be so explained that child on a regular routine feels comfortable and is better able to "predict" what will happen next. The routine helps his body clock to begin the process of winding down, some short while ago before he actually gets to bed. Because babies mind knows that after supper comes his bath, then a bed-time story, and with a good night kiss. So as soon as his head hits the pillow, the dreams are awaiting.

Similarly you try and follow this example: Like start a night time routine for you. Make your evenings fairly predictable, on the lines of eating supper, taking a bath, and going to bed with a good night kiss. Follow this routine for three weeks or so by getting into bed at same time every night. Wear flannel pajamas intended for sleeping, wear comfortable nightwear.

• Exercise - Kids play all day and night, when an infant they used to move their limbs so much that by night they are ready for such a sweet sleep. Kids do not stop running around for a minute! How active they are! Well this does not mean you are not active or I am not suggesting that you run around wherever you go. What you can do is do regular physical exercise. This is one of the most effective way that aids sleep. And not only for sleep, exercising is good for health and has several good side effects. All you need to do is take up some sport, regularly go to the gym, or just take regular night walks. You wont regret it!

• Have peaceful evenings - Heard your parents saying "Calm down now, it is almost time for bed"? Or "You would better stop running around or you wont be able to fall asleep!"? This advice still works people. Those oldies are not wrong and their old is gold advice is so very true even in this century. Like your parents you also may be saying this to your children, but then why are you not following this very important advice? What do you do? You watch soccer, wrestling matches, horrible news, or thriller movies. Some are step ahead, they even bring work home and in their bedroom and may be on to their bed. Well, please follow that advice, do not bring work at home and if that do not do it in your bed room or in bed. And do not sleep watching the idiot box. Try to have a relaxing peaceful evening. Use aromatherapy especially lavender for it is wonderful soporific properties, aromatic candles and dim lights, slip into hot bath, get some massage and have a glass of warm milk before sleeping. All this will give you mind the cue and message that it is time to sleep. All these tips ate simple and some essential and easy way to put you in state of comfortable sleeping rather then tossing and turning on bed. The simple change of lifestyle and night time habit will reduce or even eliminate the severity of their sleeping disorders, usage of sleeping pills and their health shall also benefit. All you need to do is give all this lessons by kids a try. Maybe like them you will sleep too!

Good night and Sweet dreams

The prospect of seeing a boy band on the big stage is an exciting one for many music fans, and we're now going to take a look at some of the best boy bands in the history of music. Let's see if your favorite made the list!

5. Hanson. Back in the 90s, Hanson was one of the biggest pop music sensations, riding the success of their song "Mmm Bop". This catchy pop song was the first of various hits that these three brothers penned, making Hanson one of the most successful rock boy bands ever.

4. New Kids on the Block. This was another very successful boy band, their peak having occurred during the late 1980s. The New Kids on the Block recently reunited, though they're much more grown up now.

Did Eminem Ever Freestyle Battle Eyedea?

One of the most popular subcultures of the genre of a hip hop is the art of freestyle battle rapping. Over the years, many of the most famous rappers and this art form have went on to form very successful careers in the music recording industry. Without battling being the catalyst for their fame and fan base, it is highly unlikely that they would have otherwise received this amount of success. Many fans of these rappers, and other famous rappers alike, are incredibly interested in hearing the details of alleged freestyle battles that have gone down between them and others in the past. Some of these alleged clashes of lyrical wits have gone on to become part of rap legend, with very few people knowing the exact details of what went on, other than the two rappers involved personally.
Although many of these alleged rap battles have become very famous over the years, none of them are quite as talked about as the alleged match between hip hop icon Eminem and underground freestyle battle rapping legend Eyedea. Fans in rap circles all around the world have constantly been chattering about this alleged battle for years on end, but have never come to a definitive conclusion or answer.
General consensus states that this match has never happened and it would have been impossible for these two to meet under any circumstances whatsoever. This is supported by the geographical locations of each wrapper being so far away from one another. It is noted that while both of these emcees used to be frequent regulars on the battle circuit, they never went up in the same event as each other officially or unofficially, making it extremely unlikely that they had a private battle one on one.
Another reason pointing to the unlikelihood of this match occurring, is the fact that no witnesses have ever stepped forward to testify to the match ever going down. Furthermore, neither Eminem nor Eyedea have ever stated that this match happened, making the possibility of its occurrence extremely unlikely.
But on the contrary to the aforementioned points, which are fairly valid, there is one person who claims to have the footage on film. Phillip Drummond, one of the pioneers in freestyle battle footage, has seen thousands of classic battles appear live, in front of him. Responsible for throwing the incredibly successful Mind Games 2 battle, he is one of the most legendary persons involved in rap battling today. And he himself claims that he is the sole person who has this footage. Unfortunately when asked by many fans to view it, he turns them down immediately, sometimes in violent fashion, leaving battle fans shocked and in the dark as to whether or not the battle actually took place.
So in conclusion, at this point in time there is no specific evidence which links these 2 lyrical warriors together officially. But until Phillip Drummond is proven a liar about his footage, the mystery will certainly live on to fight another day.

Justin Bieber and Rise to Fame

A platinum album in less than two months of release, seven songs from a debut album hitting the top pop 100, awards and nominations, live performances and world tours, this is now the life of a sixteen-year old Canadian pop and r&B singer, Justin Bieber. After his video was discovered in the YouTube by a former marketing executive, Scooter Braun, Justin Bieber's success has taken the music scene by storm.

Bieber was born on March 1, 1994 in Stratford, Ontario. At an early age, he taught himself to play the piano, drums, guitar and trumpet. When he was twelve, he joined in a local singing competition singing Ne Yo's "So Sick". His mother, Pattie Mallete, posted the video of his performance on YouTube and several other videos of him singing various covers of pop and r&b.

The amateur footage caught the Atlanta manager's attention, Scooter Braun, who later became Bieber's manager. Braun then introduced Justin to RnB superstar Usher whom the latter arranged an audition with Antonio L.A. Reid at Island Def Jam Music Group. Reid in turn signed him to Island Records in October 2008.

On July 2009, while still recording his debut album, Bieber's single, "One Time" was released in the radio. After merely a week, the song charted within the top 30 in over ten countries and was a certified Platinum in Canada and the US, and Gold in Australia and New Zealand. Before fall ends, on November 17, 2009, his debut album My World was released. Three consecutive singles from the album, "One Less Lonely Girl", "Love Me", and "Favorite Girl", were released exclusively on the iTunes store with the first debuting on radio, too.

The lead single, "Baby" from the second half of his album, was released in January 2010. The single was his biggest hit so far winning awards namely, International Video of the Year, Ur Fave Video and Ur Fave New Artist. It was then followed by the studio release of My World 2.0 on March 23, 2010.

Justin Bieber also made several appearances in different live shows in the US and Europe. He has performed in some awards night and special gatherings and was invited as one of the vocalists in the remake of "We Are the World".

Bieber will begin recording his next album this summer. Fans all over the globe are already anticipating its first single that will surely dominate the top music charts after its release.

The sport of soccer, known as football to most of the world, has produced some great soccer players over the past years. Zidane was born in Algeria in 1972 and after struggling in school for several years he decided that soccer was his main interest. He was spotted at the age of sixteen by a soccer scout and very quickly found himself in Cannes. Shortly after that Zidane was playing for the French Division, scoring goal after goal and becoming the star of the team.

Today one of the most popular soccer players is David Beckham, who is the star of Great Britain when it comes to the game. At sixteen Beckham was playing for Manchester United team and was already attracting the attention of soccer scouts around the world. Beckham's incredible talent found him on England's World Cup Team in 1997. His handsome looks and boyish attitude make him one of Britain's favorite celebrities.

The world of soccer continues to give us up and coming stars, but none can ever rival the status that the above players have earned.

The Unique Pagani Zonda R

When you attempt to think of a compelling car the first type to enter your mind might be Lamborghini, Ferrari, or Porsche. These types of supercars are the most common produced in the whole world and they are all tremendous in their own right. But wouldn't you want a car that is more exhilarating and special?

Pagani is a famous automaker that has produced its fair amount of supercars. Yet, it is not a name that is well known. As A Matter Of Fact unless you are a car enthusiast numerous of you may not heard of this name before now. This means that you have never had the joy of seeing the Pagani Zonda R. This vehicle is the epitome of class, speed, and perfect power!

Just one look at the aggressive bodywork of this supercar and you will be able to feel the power that is emanating from it. Even if you were to just take a test drive you would be tempted to force it to its limit and travel as fast as you could. And it would most likely be more than capable of handling this.

The Pagani Zonda R was designed to be driven on the racecourse. In fact the Zonda R was modeled after the Zonda F model. The supercar is produced with a Carbon-Titanium composite that helps to make it lightweight - without sacrificing rigidity.

Below the sleek hood dwells a Mercedes AMG 6.0 liter engine that can punch out out 750 horsepower and 710 Nm of torque. The driver utilises a direct throttle actuation that is supercharged through a mechanical cable. The supercar is also built with a 12 way Bosch Motorsport traction control as well as an ABS system.

The inside of any supercar should be comfortable and just as pleasant as the exterior. Pagani suffered no expense when it came to the Zonda R's interior. The controls inside of the supercar are tremendous and the whole interior has been given a quality finish that gives it a perfect shine. The seats are Toora and have five point safety belts as well as a CrMo roll cage that will keep drivers safe.

Those able to get their hands on a Zonda R will be able to experience the best performance and speed on the raceway that you would never be able to get on the road. It has the ability to rev from 0 to 60 in less than 2.7 seconds. The Pagani Zonda R is priced at 1.460.000.

Lamborghini Gallardo Review

The Lamborghini Gallardo was named after a line of famous bulls. After the takeover of the company by Audi the cars were still high performance cars but now they were user friendly. The cost of the car is around the same as 18 Honda Jazz's but if you are wanting to know how much this car is then this car is probably not for you.

It has Audi's switch gear and all grouped logically together. It has 6 speed transmission paddle shift similar to the ones in Maserati's and Ferrari's. The body shape is more chiselled and more defined. Overall it is a much more practical car than it's Lamborghini predecessors. It even has normal doors. If you wanted to you could use this car as an everyday car.

The car is 4 wheel drive and it needs it to be as there is so much power it needs to ensure all 4 wheels are glued to the floor.

When you take the car on the track your first thought maybe to get the traction control off but you can really drive this with all the control aids on and still have a great time. It provides blistering performance as well as great handling, a 5 litre V10 engine and very grippy brakes.

There is also a convertible version called the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder and this really brings the lunacy back. The Gallardo was a high performance car but it was practical and sensible. This version is still practical and is meant to be quiet at low speeds.

The Ferrari 458 Italia - The Supercar to Beat

The main event of the sports car world for 2010 has arrived with the launch of the Ferrari 458 Italia. The claimed performance figures of this new arrival are insane with a 0-60mph time of 3.4 seconds, not only fast in its own right but substantially faster than even the F430, the model it is replacing. Considering this is supposedly the entry-level model in the Ferrari range, the price point is higher than previous models at the same level, substantially higher than its predecessor the F430. The baby of the Ferrari family has grown up.

Let's talk performance. The 458 provides a huge power to weight ration and provides massive speed which doesn't just build and build - it's like a rocket ship all the way through the gears and right up to 9000 revs. In terms of the transmission the gearbox is a triumph and despite being a double clutched set-up with paddles on the wheel it is always very responsive and never feels removed or clinical. The throttle is almost too sensitive with no room to ease on the power with subtlety, which feels almost at odds with the refined transmission. Sound wise the 458 Italia delivers like you would expect from a Ferrari with a vicious roar and a throaty burble on the over-run.

In terms of handling, the steering is light and you barely have to turn the wheel due to a very fast steering rack - only a couple of turns are needed to get from lock to lock. With pretty much everything you need found on the steering wheel itself, the 458 provides a very hands on drive with no distractions away from you, the wheel and the road ahead. There is fantastic traction in all conditions and the ride of the 459 feels much stiffer and more rigid than the F430.

Inside the car the cabin is a big step up on previous generations with a futuristic looking contoured dash angled towards the driver. It's also fairly functional with two displays either side of the central dash, one for the sat-nav and there other providing a host of information about the cars current status. Some argue that the styling of Ferrari's over recent years haven't been too great - eye-catching yes but not always pretty. If that were the case then the 458 bucks the trend. It truly is a sight to behold. The exterior style isn't purely for show either though with performance always in mind. The 458 is undoubtedly the performance car launch of the year and has thrown down the gauntlet for its competitors.

Avenged Sevenfold Nightmare - A Fitting Tribute

Album Review

A Note to Our Readers:
When I started this piece, I thought I'd provide readers with all the history behind the album, starting with the untimely death of Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan, A7X's drummer, and ending with the CD and tour circumstances. But then I realized that most anybody who follows the band already knows this stuff from months of press, and the reason they're here now is to read a music review and answer questions like Should I buy the album or Does this guy know what the @$%* he's talking about?

So I'll forego the history and just talk about the music.

The Album:
I'm a huge Dream Theater and Rush fan. I've never gotten into the "mainstream" metal segment, so when this project was passed along, I didn't know how I'd respond to a genre that I have such little experience with. I also knew that Dream Theater's drummer, Mike Portnoy, was filling in for The Rev in studio and on tour. I actually wondered, because of the age/genre differences between the Avenged Sevenfold guys and Mr. Portnoy, if the sound of the album would be altered or incongruous in any way.

I was very surprised.

What I found as I listened to the tracks was a very personal introspection and commentary (something purported to be in low supply for this genre). Another first listening note was how incredibly similar Portnoy's drum sound and playing were to The Rev's. Jimmy had actually recorded his parts for the album at home on an electronic drum kit, so I'm assuming Portnoy used these tracks for reference as he recorded on Nightmare. But the production team did an awesome job of making Portnoy's recordings sound like an A7X mix.

Also present for time-weathered Avenged Sevenfold fans is their classic mixture of hard rock and metal instrumentation. You'll find soaring harmonized electrics with a patina of effects, tasty and clever double bass arrangements, and M. Shadows' gritty, strained tenor that fluctuates between screamcore sections (minimal) and melodic expression.

The entire album is rife with layers, depth exuding from the instrumentation, the lyrics, and band members' musical expression. It's got the dream-esque metal "Nightmare" title track (which scored a #1 on the music charts), it's got the acoustic ballad "So Far Away" (tribute to The Rev), it's got a gospel soloist on "Victim," it's got strings, it's got some awesome piano work in "Fiction," and it's got M. Shadows' all-out screams in "God Hates Us." The entire album has so much more than I was expecting from its genre - in fact, I've been listening to it over and over in my car, not yet growing tired of the music and listening for nuances I haven't yet discovered.

So, my conclusion? The album is true metal, it's true hard rock that morphs into prog rock at times, and it's a very personal and diverse expression from the grieving veteran band. Nightmare succeeds admirably as a hard rock album; more importantly, it is a product The Rev would be honored to have dedicated to his name.

Stand-out Tracks: Nightmare, Welcome to the Family, Buried Alive, Natural Born Killer, So Far Away, Fiction, God Hates Us.

Who Will Listen? Avenged Sevenfold fans, Mike Portnoy fans, Metalheads, Hard and Prog Rock fans, Listeners who want/need to be converted to the genre.

Kaka-Ricardo Izecson Dos Santos Leite

Born in April of 1982, Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite is currently known to his many adoring fans as Kaka. The Brazilian native plays midfielder for the Los Ligas club, Real Madrid and also enjoys the privilege of playing the same position for the Brazilian National Team. Always a crowd favorite, Kaka gives credit for his unusual nickname to his little brother who, as a small child, had problem's pronouncing his name. Add this to the fact that, in his native land, the nickname is often a short form of Ricardo, and you can see why the handle stuck.

A natural athlete, Kaka began playing football at the tender age of only eight years old. He also, apparently, was a pretty decent tennis player at that age. It took him seven more years to finally decide to focus on football as his chosen sport and he never looked back. He started with Sao Paulo FC and then moved across the Atlantic to play with AC Milan, a trip that cost the Milan club around €8.5 million. AC Milan, it seems, made a good investment, since Kaka won both the Ballon d'Or and the FIFA Player of the Year while part of their organization in 2007.

Then, in 2009, Real Madrid acquired the midfielder from Milan for a six year-deal that had a reputed price tag in excess of â,¤68 million. Since joining the Real Madrid squad, Kaka has been a steady if unremarkable player and there has been some grumbling about whether or not he is worth the hefty sum it cost the team to obtain his services. While it might be true that, statistically, Kaka has yet to make his mark, it is certainly not because he is lacking in either talent or ability. After all, Real Madrid has long held a reputation for attracting (and paying well for) the best players in the world.

A perennial player for Team Brazil, Kaka began his International career in the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championships. He also played in the 2002 FIFA World Cup Squad, but only for a short period of time. He started his first World Cup in 2006 and scored his first (and only) goal in the team's 1 to nothing victory over Croatia. He was named Man of the Match for his play in that meeting even though the Brazilian team went on to lose to Team France.

The Mercedes SLS AMG

Mercedes-Benz has a new super car called the SLS AMG. With starting prices of around one hundred and eighty thousand dollars it is priced to directly compete with the likes of Porsche, Ferrari and Aston Martin. Aside from all the usual performance comparisons there is one thing this car has that the others do not - the gull-wing Mercedes is back. Entertainment: well, there is a 6.2 liter engine in the front providing a rumble to match anything to come out of Detroit. With over five hundred and fifty horsepower the SLS would be an entertaining drive even if the handling was poor. Fortunately that is not the case. It's agile, poised and although its feels quite stiff on the road the combination of engine of handling provides a fantastic drive.

In term of practicality the car is a bit of a mixed bag. Mercedes have obviously considered how this car is going to be used and the SLS comes with typical features to provide everyday usability like sat-nav and a decent stereo. However the gull wings, as iconic as they are, make it a pain to get in and out of the car, make the car very wide and you really have to stretch to pull the doors down once your inside. The design also means headroom is fairly tight as well.

The gearbox is a double clutched affair which works really well. There is a slight delay when you flick the paddles but overall it feels very sharp and responsive. The car is very obviously rear wheel drive. The seating position is very back and harks back to honest, old school GT's and combined with the sharp steering you have total faith in where the front of the car is going to go. This car can go round corners really, really fast - if you tried hard enough you could probably keep up with a four-wheel drive 911 Turbo. It is also blazingly fast in a straight line - very impressive for a heavy, front engined Grand Tourer.

Looking at value for money - can any car at this price be considered reasonable value? Probably not but put alongside its peers it is competitively priced. Let's look at it another way - against the Mercedes McLaren SLR, the SLS is quicker, handles better and is less expensive to the tune of almost two hundred thousand dollars. So, the SLS is a loud and raucous affair dominated by the enormous powerhouse of an engine - yet at the same time civilized by the usual high standard of refinement and usability that you would expect from a Mercedes-Benz.

Classic Motorcycles - The Ducati 750SS

Rather like fellow Italian motorcycle manufacture Moto Guzzi, Ducati was an exotic, yet unpredictable, marquee in the 1970s. The Ducati 750SS was the first foray into big bore machinery for the company. Opinions vary, some thinking it was a collection parts from the famous Dell'Orto catalogue with glass fibre bits and pieces, (including the fuel tank), others feeling that it was simply an evolution from Ducati's GT.

Really, it wasn't important. Despite the drawing board opinions, when ridden, the SS proved to be a very special sports bike and helped pave the way for the release, and success, of the 900SS some two years later. Both the Honda CB750 and Suzuki GT750 were the two bikes that were in many ways the benchmarks in terms of performance and handling at the time of the release of the SS, and with a top speed of 124mph, the SS could compete on level terms.

However, where it excelled was in the "twisties". Even up against more powerful bikes, when it came to cornering and real life speed, in other words not just straight line performance, the SS would leave them in its wake. It built up a deserved reputation as the best cafe style racer of the day, and the best handling superbike to date.

Typical of Ducati, and a style that remains to this day, were the rear mounted footrests and clip-on handlebars. This put it firmly in the sports bracket, pushing the boundaries of sports bikes at that time, and looked different to anything else on the road at that time. It looked stunning with its race seat and optional handlebar fairing. Riding this machine took guts and an ability to cope with the radical riding position, placing as it did a lot of pressure on the wrists and neck muscles.

Production stopped in 1974. It was sometimes regarded as a piece of exotica and sales were not huge. But this 748cc, V-twin broke a mould in many ways, before Ducati moved on, as the rest of the motorcycle industry, to more cubes and more horsepower.

Life Story of a Star in the Making - Cristiano Ronaldo

A much-vaunted prodigy when snapped up by Man. United from Sporting Lisbon in 2003, Cristiano Ronaldo is maybe, apart from David Beckham, the most well known player on the planet.

He has since won the FIFA World Player of the Year in 2008. He is a winger who plundered 42 goals across all competitions in 2007-08, Ronaldo will be expected to do what he has yet to do - and that's ignite an international tournament, like the looming Soccer worldcup.

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

Ronaldo was born on 5th February 1985, on the Portuguese island of Madeira,. Named after Ronald Reagan, due to his father`s respect for the man, few would have put money that this child would make it to the very top of the world soccer ranking, especially with Madeira being mainly being agricultural. He has one brother and two sisters, it is family whom he chooses as the most important in his life.

On the back streets of this small island that Ronaldo learnt his first few tricks, until he was scouted that is. By the age of 12, Ronaldo had established himself as the top player on Madeira, utilizing his great talent and speed to pass full grown defenders for Andorinha.

Having been scouted as a serious talent, the big Portuguese clubs had to scrap it out for his signature. Though Porto and Boavista both attempted to sign him, he could only ever play for Sporting Lisbon the soccer club he supported since a boy.

Progressing through the youth ranks he impressed all who he worked with him. At the young age of 17, Ronaldo was thrown in at the deep end with his first game against Moreirense. He scored twice which not only gave him a dream debut, but also endeared him to the fans who soon learnt to chant for him to have the ball. A goal against title-rivals Boavista also saw him shoot to the top of the "Fan`s Favorites" list.

His skills were being watched closely by all of the top clubs in Europe, including Liverpool and Juventus.

His dazzling skills put England U-17s out, and everyone who watched felt they had seen something special.

At the end of his first season at Sporting Lisbon he was loaned to Liverpool. Though he was extremely happy at Sporting, he was also flattered by the interest of such a big club from England's premier league

A STAR IS BORN.

Sporting Lisbon finished top in the league, and Ronaldo was hailed as the future of the club, alongside another Portuguese Starlet Quaresma.

Ultimately both moved on. The money on the table was way too much for the Portuguese club to turn down. Best-friend Quaresma ended up at Barcelona, whilst Ronaldo landed at the bright red of Man. United.

The deal saw Ronaldo become the most expensive teenage signing in the UK, with Manchester paying £12.24 million spread equally over two seasons. Those who had not seen him play baulked at the price for an unproven player!

An so, on 12th August 2003, Cristiano Ronaldo held up the famous Red shirt, with his favourite number 7 (it is hero Figo`s number) for all the media to see. A new star had been born.

After winning all there was to win with man. United, in the summer of 2009 Ronaldo finally earned his dream move to Real Madrid. Yet another world record fee of £80 million was paid for him as part of the new era of galacticos at the Bernabeu.

The tricky winger made his debut for his country in a 1-0 victory against Kazakhstan in 2003 and was named in the squad for Euro 2004 in Portugal.

He had the chance to come of age at the Germany hosted 2006 World Cup, though one of the memorable images of the tournament was his wink at the bench after Manchester United team-mate Wayne Rooney was sent off in a match against England. He also came in for fierce criticism for diving, which resulted in him being booed at games and it probably cost him the Young Player of the Tournament award.

He only scored one goal at Euro 2008, but after former Manchester United assistant coach took over with Portugal, Ronaldo has been named captain, though some would argue he is not their most influential player.

With South Africa 2010 on the horizon, Ronaldo has the talent, ability and now the experience to make an impact for Portugal provided he can shake off his devils of the past.

On the commercial front Cristiano Ronaldo is not too different from the likes of other soccer celebrities. He earns a fortune from plenty of endorsed Cristiano Ronaldo cleats, Cristiano Ronaldo t shirts, Shin guards and various other equipment and memorabilia, as is common place in today's modern soccer game.

Footballer Profile - Robin Van Persie

Following in the footsteps of Dennis Bergkamp as Arsenal's Dutch striker is an unenviable task. But, at the moment, Robin van Persie is making a good job of it.

It didn't always look like that, though. There has never been any question of the young Dutchman's ability but, for a time, it looked as if a succession of niggling injuries and what appeared to be a distinctly questionable attitude might lead to him never really fulfilling his potential. Most people, when thinking about the Van Persie of that era, will remember the Daily Telegraph's description of him as being 'twenty one going on nine'!

And when Arsene Wenger remained insistent that he wasn't going to replace the departed Adebayor with another striker, many people questioned the great man's judgment. Robin van Persie, though, has revelled in the extra responsibility and is arguably playing the very best football of his career.

Robin van Persie had already been a member of the Feyenoord team that had won the UEFA Cup in 2002 by the time he joined Arsenal but his time at his home town club had not always been as successful. Frequent disciplinary problems and disagreements with manager Bert van Marwijk earned him a reputation as being 'difficult' to manage. His 15 goals in 59 first team matches, though, and his clearly apparent talent, attracted interest from Arsenal and although the negotiations seemed to stretch on for months, eventually he signed for the Gunners for a fee of around £2.75 million - a figure which, yet again, shows Arsene Wenger's incredible eye for a bargain.

Wenger made it clear quite early that he envisaged his young Dutch player, who at that time was considered to be more of a winger, eventually moving to a more central role - similar to the transformation that Thierry Henry had previously undergone. So successful has this transition been that the manager of the Dutch national team - for whom Robin has made 40 appearances - announced that he would be performing the same job for them. Ironically, the manager making this promise is the same Bert van Marwijk who had had such difficulties with the younger van Persie.

During his time at Arsenal, Robin van Persie has developed into a mobile, intelligent striker and, most impressively, he has also become a much more focussed team player. Indeed, last season he was at the top of the statistics with 'goal assists' in the Premier League. His skill on the ball and eye for a pass to colleagues are now simply outstanding. A recent first time lay off into the path of Cesc Fàbregas, with whom he has built an almost telepathic understanding, in the away match against Wolves was symptomatic of Arsenal at their best.

Away fans might still suspect van Persie of tumbling rather theatrically in the penalty area under rather minimal contact, and it remains to be seen whether he has finally both his injury problems and his temper. But, with 46 goals for the Emirates' team already, in just 126 matches, and with every prospect of Arsenal really challenging for all the major honours this season, comparisons with the great Dennis Bergkamp are no longer in the slightest bit fanciful.

Robin van Persie has become a very, very good player indeed - and, unlike the illustrious Bergkamp, he doesn't mind flying to away games.

The world really didn't know what to expect of a band with a name like Guns N' Roses. With their debut album in 1987 entitled "Appetite for Destruction," they were greeted with open arms by many. This album has remained one of the band's most popular albums to date. The band members included Axl Rose, who was the lead vocalist, and lead guitarist Tracii Guns, who was later replaced by Slash. The rhythm guitarist was Izzy Stradlin, while Rob Gardner was banging the drums. In 1990 the band added Dizzy Reed to their line-up with his talent for the keyboards.

Their debut single was "Welcome to the Jungle." This was a fast-selling fan favorite and is still played quite often on the heavy metal stations worldwide. Guns N' Roses quickly became one of the fastest-selling heavy metal bands, adored by fans worldwide.

Top-Selling Albums Released by Guns N' Roses:

Guns N' Roses Name is Sought After by Leading Members

Once the band decided to split up, both Axl and Slash wanted to keep the name Guns N' Roses. This battle of the band would finally be won by Axl Rose. Most fans still prefer the sound the original members, Axl and Dizzy, have added to the band over the years.

Guns N' Roses is scheduling a new album for release in 2007, entitled "The Chinese Democracy." Fans of Guns N' Roses are waiting to see just what Axl has to offer them. Guns N' Roses actually planned the released of the album in 2002. He was successful in his endeavor. The album was blocked and is due to be released in 2007. Heavy metal fans worldwide await the album. Guns N' Roses, it seems, may be around for many years to come.

The Story of Linkin Park

Linkin Park is a popular band, and hundreds, if not thousands, download music videos from the group every day. If you are one who loves to watch music videos of this group, take some time to learn a little more in-depth information about the group and its members.

History of Linkin Park

The band started with Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, and Rob Bourdon, three high school friends from California who enjoyed playing together. After graduation, they decided to see how far they could take their group, and then recruited three new members: Joe Han, Dave Ferrell, and Mark Wakefield. The new group gave themselves the name "Zero" and began to record and produce their own songs. The original songs were produced in Mike's bedroom studio, but they were struggling to land a record deal.

As with many similar bands, the lack of success led to tension. This caused two of the members to leave. First to leave was Wakefield, who was Xero's vocalist, followed by Farrell, who went on to tour with other groups.

The group had to recruit a new vocalist, and they turned to Chester Bennington. His unique singing style landed him a spot, and the new group changed its name to Hybrid Theory. As the band came back to life, it changed its name again to Linkin Park.

Still, the band continued to struggle. They turned to Jeff Blue, vice president of Warner Bros. Records, who had referred Chester Bennington to them in the past. With his help, they signed a deal with Warner Bros. Records in 1999, and their first successful album Hybrid Theory, was released in 2000.

The first album contained much of the work from the group over the last ten years. Music fans enjoyed it, and it sold over 4.8 million records its first year. Singles from the album were popping up all over the place, including several hit movies. The album was nominated for three Grammies, winning the Grammy for the best hard rock performance, which solidified the band's popularity.

Over time, bassist Dave Farrell rejoined the group, and they published the remix album Reanimation, which earned second spot on the Billboard 200. This opened the band to touring, and in 2002 the band released its third album, Meteora, which featured a variety of styles.

Between 2004 and 2006, the band rested from recording for a while, allowing its members to work on side project while the group did some tours. Linkin Park came back together in 2006 to record Minutes to Midnight, which was not released until November of 2008 due to the band's busy tour schedule.
